Iam Tongi - American Idol - storytelling master

The best artists combine storytelling and emotions.

The world is alight with the smooth, buttery voice of Iam Tongi, the American Idol 2023.

Why?

Because he is a master of something all writers strive to do.

Storytelling.

Idol judge Lionel Richie applauded the 18-year-old singer for being a “Master” at storytelling.

Katy Perry, another Idol judge, praised the singer at his audition for his storytelling artistry.

The Hawaiian American Idol also does what other storytellers do best: make people feel emotions.

The best artists combine storytelling and emotions.

You can do that too.

Enjoy the musical talent of Iam Tongi.

May he ignite your own storytelling.

On a personal note, I feel great pride in this singer from my home state of Hawaii.

Iam reminds me of another Hawaiian great, Israel Kamakawiwoʻole, who reached super stardom with his moving medley of Somewhere Over the Rainbow/It’s a Wonderful World.

As Katy Perry said to Iam, I say this to you: It’s a wonderful world because you’re in it.
